Our Current Mission
Catherine’s Kids (Casa Hogar Niños de Catherine) is a children’s home operated by Conquistando Fronteras Church in Baja California, Mexico.
Their mission is to transform the lives of vulnerable children with special needs who have been left without parental care by providing a safe, loving, and nurturing home where their physical, spiritual, emotional, educational, and social needs are met.
Their vision is to give every child the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their God-given potential.
At Catherine’s Kids, every gift helps provide life-changing care for children with special needs. Your generosity ensures that these children receive the love, dignity, medical attention, and specialized support they deserve.

Why We're Doing This
At the Vargas Foundation, we believe every child deserves more than a safe place to live. They deserve the opportunity to receive the care, support, and resources they need to thrive.
The eight children currently living at Catherine’s Kids have special needs and have been abandoned by their families. Many require ongoing medical care, therapy, medication, and specialized support.
Yet the home operates with extremely limited resources.
Catherine’s Kids receives no consistent government funding and relies heavily on the generosity of local churches and individual donors to provide for the children.
That's where we believe we can make a difference.
Our goal isn't simply to write a check. It's to identify the obstacles standing between these children and a better quality of life and help remove them.
Right now, one of their biggest obstacles is transportation.
Our Current Goal: A Safe, Reliable Van
Something as simple as getting to a medical appointment shouldn't stand between a child and the care they need.
Many of the children at Catherine’s Kids regularly need to travel to Tijuana for medical appointments, specialized therapies, and other essential services.
Their current vehicle is inadequate and frequently nonfunctional.
With eight children plus the caregivers and nurses needed to accompany them, reliable transportation has become one of the biggest barriers to getting these children the consistent care they need.
Our Christmas Goal
Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase a safe, reliable 15-passenger van for Catherine’s Kids and personally deliver it to the children on Christmas, filled with toys and gifts.
We're not looking for anything fancy.
We're looking for something safe, mechanically sound, and dependable that can get these children to their appointments and therapies when they need them.
Our first choice is a 15-passenger van. We will also evaluate accessibility modifications, including wheelchair access, based on the vehicle and the children's needs.

How It All Started
The Vargas Foundation began with one foster home, one urgent need, and a decision to help.
In November 2023, we were introduced to a foster home in Mexicali, Mexico that was facing the possibility of being shut down.
Their kitchen was no longer up to government standards. They didn't have a properly functioning stove or freezer, food supplies were limited, and the renovations needed to bring the facility up to code were estimated to cost more than $17,000 USD.
They were given approximately 45 days to begin the repairs.
For a home already operating on limited resources and relying heavily on local churches, individual donors, and even weekend garage sales to raise money, coming up with that amount seemed nearly impossible.
We decided to help!
Over those next 45 days, through personal donations and the generosity of others who rallied around the cause, nearly $20,000 was raised.
The kitchen was restored.
The home remained open.
And the children were able to stay in the place they called home.
That Experience Became Something Bigger
We realized there were children and caregivers facing problems that could feel overwhelming to them - but could be solved when enough people came together and decided to help.
That experience became the beginning of the Vargas Foundation.
Our mission has continued to evolve, but the principle behind it remains simple.
Find a real need. Rally good people around it. And create an impact people can actually see.
What started with restoring a kitchen in Mexicali has now brought us to eight special-needs children at Catherine's Kids who need reliable transportation to access medical care and therapy.
Different need. Same mission.
And this Christmas, we're hoping to write the next chapter by delivering a reliable van filled with toys to the children who need it most.

Director and President
William Vargas is a mission-driven entrepreneur and high-performance coach with over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership and social impact. As the founder of The Vargas Foundation, his vision is rooted in a deep passion for empowering children—not just to survive, but to thrive.
Driven by a belief that every child deserves the tools, support, and opportunity to reach their full potential, William has dedicated his life to service.
Over the past 20 years, he has actively supported nearly a dozen nonprofit organizations, lending his time, resources, and hands-on involvement to causes that uplift communities and transform lives.
Whether leading strategic initiatives or volunteering on the ground, William leads with purpose, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.
Lester Kiss
Treasurer
Lester is a seasoned Business and Nonprofit Attorney with a deep-rooted passion for advocacy and impact. As a father of two young boys, his commitment to creating a better world for children is both personal and professional. That passion came to life through the founding of the Vargas Foundation, where he played a key role in building an organization dedicated to uplifting foster children both in the U.S. and abroad.
A graduate of Princeton University (B.A.) and Duke Law School (J.D./LL.M.), Lester brings a wealth of legal and operational expertise to his role, overseeing the foundation’s strategic execution, governance, and day-to-day operations.
Isabella Vargas
Director and Secretary
Isabella is a third-year college student studying Nonprofit Management, driven by a deep-rooted passion for supporting and empowering children. Her journey began as a Montessori teacher in Portland, Oregon, where she discovered the profound impact of nurturing young minds.
Today, Isabella devotes her time to working directly with children in foster care, offering guidance through art, social development, and soon, English language education.
Her hands-on approach and unwavering compassion reflect her belief that every child deserves connection, creativity, and a path to thrive.
Linda “Von Kiss” Vargas
Director
Linda is an internationally recognized DJ with a heart as powerful as her turntables. After earning her degree in Business Management from San Diego State University, she quickly discovered her true passion wasn’t in retail, but in creating unforgettable experiences through music.
For the past 20 years, Linda - known by her DJ moniker Von Kiss - has performed around the globe at festivals, nightclubs, private celebrity events, corporate functions, and even more intimate spaces like homeless shelters and school assemblies. Her versatility behind the decks is matched only by her deep compassion offstage.
A committed volunteer, Linda has donated her time and talent to numerous nonprofit organizations, with a focus on causes supporting women and children. She believes in the power of music to uplift, connect, and heal - and she brings that spirit into every set she plays.
Now, through her involvement with the Vargas Foundation, Linda is expanding her mission of service. Her goal is to spread joy, raise awareness, and rally support for those in need - especially kids - around the world. She truly lives by the motto: Give love. Play music. Make an impact.
