Restoring Hearts, Hope & Homes

Our Story

In November of 2023 we were introduced to a Foster Home in Mexicali, Mexico that was in dire need of help.

They were on the verge of getting shut down by the Mexican Government because the kitchen was not up to code. The kitchen didn't have a working stove, freezer and was scarce in food.

The estimated costs were over $17,000 USD to repair the kitchen.

Unfortunately, the Mexican government doesn't offer much help when it comes to Foster Homes. They provide some food supplies, other than that, the Foster Home must raise funds on their own.

As you can probably imagine this was a bit of a challenge... The foster mother would host garage sales on the weekend to raise funds, receive some donations from local churches and a few generous individuals would offer some financial support.

The Mexican Government gave them approximately 45 days to begin fixing the kitchen (hire a contractor and begin the restoration process).

So, in those 45 days, we donated and helped raise nearly $20,000 to save this Foster Home from being shut down.

Here is the restoration of the kitchen ...

Our Mission

Since the kitchen project, we decided to create the Vargas Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps restore foster homes. Our Mission is to restore these kids' homes, their hearts and even their hope for the future.

Our Impact

Our goal is one Foster Home restoration every 3 months. Mexicali has 35 foster facilities alone and all of them are in need of support.

Some need structural repair, some need playgrounds, some need bathroom restorations and some needs utility repairs.

We plan on making a huge impact with all of the Foster Homes so that we can truly help create a better living environment for these kids and restore not just their homes, but their hope for the future.

"Our goal is to restore one Foster Home every 3 months."
